it was a week before xmas, and I was in such a rush
the ground was ice cold covered in snowy brown slush
I had less than a week to finish my holiday shopping
although I had done already so much I felt as though
my strengh is already dropping
I could not find the right gifts for my family to get
most stores were sold out or they were too expensive,
but I wouldnt quit yet
So today I went looking, and found nothing to buy
so I asked for some heavenly help looking up at the sky
I asked "can you give me some help my one and true god
I need your help finding presents, for I am dumb and clod."
"I have searched and I've searched with no such success,
I cant find the right ones to give I am in such a mess."
so I listened and listened but he did not respond
It was like I was in a paddless boat in stuck on a pond
but then I realized something that he did say something to me
I look up and I thanked him filled up with glee.
So on that Christmas morning when my friends and family came over for holiday fun
I told them I had got them a gift but one they must share
when they heard what I said they only cold gawk and just stare
"What are you saying"?! my aunt said with disgust,
"I thought you went shopping for presents I trust."
"oh I did go out shopping at store after store, but I couldnt find anything to buy you, and I shopped till the bottom of my feet got all sore". "But then I asked God for some healthy advice, and his answer to me was straight forward, he didn't think twice."
"He made me realise no material present matters at all,
not one that is huge, or one that is small." "Inside of yourself thats where your shopping should start, because no gift is better than one from your heart".
My family and friend looked at me and grinned and let out a sigh
why one or people even started to cry.
I came over and gave them each a big hug filled up with joy,
they realised that that love was better than some silly old toy.
So I end this here entry, with words by which you should all live:
Love is best and only present you really should give.
